Advising international clients in French law.
Cabinet AS Avocats, led by Maître Alexander STELLER, advises individuals, couples, families and businesses in civil, family and real estate law.
A substantial part of the firm's work requires assisting foreign clients through French procedures and before the French courts and administration — matters governed by French law alone, but conducted for clients unfamiliar with the system, its requirements and its timescales. The firm equally handles cases with a cross-border dimension: the application of foreign law, the enforcement of judgments abroad, estates and assets spread across several jurisdictions.
Admitted to the Paris Bar in 2007, a British and Australian national, Maître Steller combines a thorough command of French procedure with an understanding of what clients trained in common law systems expect. This dual perspective informs every stage of the work, from initial assessment to representation before the courts.

How We Work
Before taking any action, Cabinet AS Avocats carries out a full assessment of your situation, based on an initial discussion and the key factual material.
On that basis, we set out the legal and financial stakes of your case and provide you with:
-
A statement of objectives matched to what is actually at stake
-
The litigation strategies available to reach them
-
A fee agreement, which forms the contract between you and the firm, and whose performance is guaranteed by the professional rules governing French avocats
Methodological rigour. Strategic transparency. Direct availability.
We take on a matter only if we can commit to it fully. The avocat who signs your fee agreement is your single point of contact and the sole author of every step taken on your behalf.

Native English.
French law.
French procedure is unforgiving to those who are unfamiliar with it, and is rarely self-explanatory. Maître Steller deals with clients directly, without interpreters: what the Court has actually decided, what the Notaire is asking for, what the deadline really means.
This linguistic facility removes translation delays and misunderstandings — particularly critical in sensitive family matters and in complex property transactions. We maintain ongoing correspondence in English with all English-speaking clients (in the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States, Canada, NZ, South-East Asia ...) and coordinate cross-border strategy.
